The Ranch

Facilities- Adopt Today!

In the heart of North San Diego County wine country, ResQue Ranch is nestled on six acres in the hills of southeast Escondido. Surrounded by a sprawling avocado grove and vineyard, it makes for a picturesque setting as well as a source of support for the hard work of rescuing the seemingly endless number of horses in need.

The red 10,000 sq. ft. 18-stall barn is as beautiful as it is functional. A work in progress, it was designed with the safety, comfort, and future of ResQue Ranch very much in mind. State of the art best describes this barn’s features. Built of virtually fireproof materials, the lack of wood construction makes it virtually fireproof and chew-proof, promoting a safe and healthy environment. A wide center aisle, large grooming stalls, and other amenities reflect conscientious thought and a full appreciation for designing a safe and smooth running operation.

An elevated viewing deck overlooks the arena so visitors, sponsors, and spectators can watch not only the rehabilitation of horses, but fundraising events hosting top-notch equestrian talent, including clinicians and a wide variety of equestrian entertainment.
While proceeds from the avocado grove and the vineyard are donated to help defray the significant operational costs of ResQue Ranch, vigorous efforts to raise funds remain a year ‘round endeavor. In addition to hosting fundraising events, sponsorship takes a variety of forms; from cash and in-kind donations and monthly “adoption” of one of our rescue horses to corporate packages, tax deductible donations fund operations 100%.

"I must say...that more unmanly, brutal treatment of a little pony it was never my painful lot to witness; and by giving way to such passion, you injure your own character as much, nay more, than you injure your horse, and remember, we shall all have to be judged according to our works, whether they be towards man or towards beast."― Anna Sewell, Black Beauty
